What are the Montana car insurance minimum coverage requirements? How does one find the cheapest Montana car insurance rates? What are some of the best Montana auto insurance companies? Read on to get answers to your MT car insurance question and learn how to find the best Montana auto insurance policy for your specific needs.

The Penalty For Not Having Montana Car Insurance

Do you know what it means not to have car insurance in Montana? For Montana drivers it may mean a misdemeanor charge that includes a fine of up to $500 and 5 points added to your license (30 points on your driver’s license in Montana leads to automatic revocation of your driver’s license). As an added bonus a free 10 day vacation in the county jail.

Plus, if you didn’t learn the first time, the state of Montana will either charge you another fine, higher than the first time, or put you in jail for another 10 days. In addition, you’ll also have your driver’s license suspended for 90 days.

Montana Tort Auto Insurance Laws

Montana is under a tort system when it comes to car accidents. This means that for you to be charged with an accident’s damages, you must be proven to have been the cause of the accident. Each state under a tort system of law for car insurance operates slightly different, so the best place to go in the State of Montana to find out about the minimum state car insurance requirements is by contacting the Montana State Auditor in Helena by calling (406) 444-2040, or by visiting their website at http://sao.mt.gov.

Montana Minimum Auto Insurance Coverage Requirements

Under Montana law, you must have Bodily Injury Liability coverage with a minimum of $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident. Bodily Injury Liability car insurance covers the medical expenses of all occupants of your car in the event of an accident.

Montana residents are also required to carry $10,000 of Property Damage car insurance coverage. Property Damage coverage pays for any property damages resulting from an accident, including the damages suffered by the other driver.

Keep in mind these are only the minimum requirements for the state of Montana. With the rising costs of car repairs and medical expenses, the numbers can add up fast. Since you will be held personally responsible for any expenses not covered by insurance, you may want to increase these coverage amounts substantially.

Montana Optional Auto Insurance Coverage

While not required under Montana law, you may want to purchase collision and comprehensive car insurance coverage. Collision pays for damages to your vehicle in the event of an accident, and comprehensive car insurance will pay for repairs up to the Blue Book value of the car. If the cost of repair exceeds the Blue Book value, the car may be deemed to be totaled, and you would be awarded the cash value of your car. It’s for this reason that many lenders require that any car purchased with a car loan carry comprehensive car insurance.

Uninsured/underinsured insurance is not required in Montana but is highly recommended. This type of car insurance coverage protects you in the even that you are in an accident with a driver who either is uninsured or underinsured. This type of coverage will also help pay for medical expenses and car repairs following an accident with one of these drivers.

You might also want to consider Personal Injury Protection car insurance coverage in addition to the Montana state requirements. Personal Injury Protection coverage insures you and your passengers to provide help with medical bills, lost wages, and replacement services after an accident, even if you were found to be the cause of that accident.

How To Find Cheap Montana Car Insurance Rates

As always, you may want to review your Montana car insurance policy once every 6 months to make sure you have adequate coverage for your driving needs and you are not paying any more than you should. Shop around and do a side-by-side comparison of prices and the coverage offered. Compare at least 3 different car insurance companies in order to find the best rate.

Montana Auto Insurance Companies

No one single insurer is the best choice for every Montana resident so be sure and shop around. Here is a listing of some of the top MT car insurance companies:

AIG
SF Insurance
GEICO
Allstate
Esurance
Liberty Mutual
Progressive

Compare Montana Car Insurance Quotes Online

So if you live in Montana and plan on a drive down Sun Road in Glacier Park, considered to be the one of the most scenic drives in the United States, you may want to make sure you have proper car insurance. Of course, there is no need to have to drive all around town as well and get rates from one Montana auto insurance agent after another – there is an easier way. Compare MT auto insurance quotes online from competing companies and then choose the one that will best meet your needs.

By: James J.

Auto insurance is a contract with an insurance company that helps to protect you against severe financial loss if you are ever in an auto accident Auto insurance is required to protect yourself from road and auto accidents and may include losses for liability, medical payments and any physical damage resulting from the accident. The coverage of a personal auto policy includes the insured, his family members, friends and associates that may borrow the car.

Automobile insurance includes vehicles like cars and bikes and is available for everybody. Most states have laws that require basic auto insurance coverage for every driver. Only some states ask that you display financial responsibility. If you are involved in an auto accident or stopped by a police officer and found to be driving without car insurance or proof of financial responsibility, you will have to pay a fine or specific to the laws of your state which may also include loss of driving privileges. The financial responsibility law states that you have to demonstrate having sufficient assets to settle any judgments against you which may arise out of an auto accident. If you are uninsured and in an auto accident that involves property damage or injuries to people, you will be required to pay for any damages assessed by a court.

However, having quick payday loans does not prevent a person from suing you. It does assure that the financial and legal resources of the insurance company will assist you in defending the suit and paying for the damages in the case of an automobile accident.

Since most states require auto insurance from all drivers, the states have assigned risk plans to assure coverage. The plans vary from state to state, but assigned risk policies are usually expensive, because a bad driving record makes you a bad risk for any insurer. Most auto insurance policies are non-assessable. If you do have an assessable policy, you can be assessed an extra amount if your insurance company has had an extraordinary amount of car accidents that year.

Auto insurance rates have fallen considerably across the U.S. in the last two years. The reasons contributing to this decline are:

Safer cars

Falling crime rates

Stringent drunk driving laws

Increased competition among insurance companies

Ageing of the population

With a growing need for auto insurance, many insurance companies now offer specific auto insurance deals tailored to the consumer.

Different states will require varying insurance requirements. Knowing these important information will be a critical factor if you want get maximum protection for you in the event of accidents.

Understand Your Auto Insurance Numbers

A series of three numbers are normally used by auto insurance companies to refer to property damage and bodily injury coverage. In Arizona, for example, the minimum auto insurance coverage requirements are stated as 15-30-10-$15,000 for the maximum amount to be paid for a single person injured in an accident or the bodily injury liability; $30,000 for the maximum amount to be paid for all injuries in an accident, also a bodily injury liability; and $10,000 the maximum amount to be paid for property damage or the property damage liability.

Educate Yourself about Minimum Insurance Requirements

Talk to a reliable agent or source or search the Net for accurate data regarding the minimum auto insurance requirements.

If you are a first-time driver, locating reasonable auto insurance can be one of the major challenges after the initial purchase of your car. There is no shortage of car insurance companies standing ready to offer you competitive rates as well as different kinds of insurance policies. There are two types that are most readily used by motorists: liability and full coverage. These two types of coverage represent the bottom line. Any other particulars of certain policies are built off of these. What are some of the differences? Is one better than the other?

Each state has its own guidelines and specific provisions that govern the use of car insurance. The regulations declare what minimum amount coverage is required by law. If you want to drive legal in most of the states, you will need liability insurance coverage. Liability insurance coverage provides the motorist protection against damage and injuries which were caused by you, including property damage.

This type of coverage is described in terms of numbers. Each of these numbers represents the components of the liability coverage. They are written like so: 20/60/10. The first number is the maximum amount your insurance company will pay to cover bodily injuries sustained by a single person, per accident. The second is the maximum amount that your insurance provider will pay for every injury caused by a single accident. The third number is the total amount that will be paid to cover property damage.

With full coverage you have far more provisions available to you. Yet there is a misconception that if you have “full” coverage, that all circumstances will be covered. This is not true. Full coverage includes two additional areas or components of insurance coverage besides liability called collision and comprehensive. Full coverage has a degree of flexibility about it. You do not necessary need both of these additional components. For example, comprehensive can be added by itself. In order to have to collision coverage you must have comprehensive.

With comprehensive coverage you have protection against other forms of damage such as those that come from natural disasters, fire, vandalism, and theft. For those who add collision coverage, they do so because they want protection in auto collisions.

There are clear differences between liability and full coverage. What type you decide to purchase depends on different factors like whether your car or truck is new, used, or under financing. It may also be a matter of how much coverage you want to buy. The costs will be higher if you opt for fuller coverage rather straight liability. If there are other features or special areas of coverage provided by the individual auto insurance provider, you may decided to pay for some parts but not others.

It is important to understand what type of coverage you need as well have a working knowledge of other types of coverage available and what each one offers you, the motorist.

By: Joseph Kenny

Looking for a low cost auto insurance quotes in Florida? Here’s how to find the best quotes with the best companies.

Florida Auto Insurance Requirements

If you own a car in the state of Florida you are required to carry auto insurance, even if your car is inoperative. The minimum amount of insurance is:

1. $10,000 Personal Injury Protection – this coverage pays for expenses due to injuries regardless of who was at fault. PIP coverage applies to you, relatives who live in your home, passengers in your car, and anyone who drives your car. You are also covered if you’re hit by a car while walking or riding a bicycle.

2. $10,000 Property Damage Liability – this coverage pays for damages you or your family cause to other people in a car crash.

If you were involved in a prior auto accident you may be required to carry Bodily Injury Liability coverage in addition to the above coverages. This coverage pays for expenses due to injury or death to others when you, or family members living with you, cause an auto accident. It also pays for legal expenses if you’re sued by the injured party.

Additional Coverage

In addition to the required auto insurance coverage you may want to get the following coverages:

* Collision coverage – pays for damages to your car by another car or an object, regardless of who was at fault.

* Comprehensive coverage – pays for damage done to your car by vandalism, theft, fire, hail, and causes other than a collision.

* Uninsured/Underinsured coverage – pays for medical expenses and property damage costs for you, your family, and your passengers when caused by an uninsured, underinsured, or hit-and-run driver.

Get a Low Cost Quote

The easiest way to get a low cost Florida auto insurance quote is to comparison shop for insurance online. There are a number of sites where you can get quotes from different companies, compare quotes, then choose the best quote. Some of these sites even have a toll-free telephone number and a chat feature where you can talk with an insurance expert and get answers to you questions.

Different auto insurance companies offer different types of coverage to suit any need, budget, and car type. And the best option is to have your car independantly valued first by visiting Kelly blue book.

When you wheel and deal directly with auto insurance companies, the “middleman” is taken right out of the equation, and this helps a company keep their rates as low as they can.

As auto insurance companies constitute a growing industrial sector, these companies provide a wide range of employment opportunities for beginners as well as experienced persons. If you are new to Texas or if you are visiting and bringing in your car, you must immediately arrange for an auto insurance coverage if you do not have one yet.

Generally, all you need to do to cancel your auto insurance policy is to inform your insurance company in writing, specifying the date you want the policy canceled. It is very easy to shop around for a new auto insurance company, since most company websites offer you instant quotes and deals online and give their contact details for further information. One type of coverage is called liability and that is the least coverage a person can get.

The insurance requirement does not end with auto insurance. Trying to determine the right amount of auto insurance coverage you need for your car or automobile can initially look like it will be a daunting task at best. If you do decide to only insure your car or automobile with liability auto insurance then no matter what your state mandated minimum insurance requirements are it would be beneficial to carry the following amount of auto insurance, $50,000 bodily injury liability for one person, $100,000 for all folks injured in an accident and $25,000 property damage liability.

Although the policy of don’t ask, don’t tell seemed like a good idea for the military, should it be the same with auto insurance company?

Some of the other aspects that are considered when you are shopping for low cost auto insurance policies are, how long you have been driving, miles driven to work, miles you drive per year and how long you have had auto insurance.

One of the best ways to take a look at the good, bad and the ugly about auto insurance companies is by checking out online company reviews.

Making your teens safe while they are driving is one of the most importance issues in your auto insurance policy.

You can sit in the comfort of your home and get quotes from several insurance companies for the best rates for your auto insurance.

By: Calvin Leonard

It doesn’t matter if you have just passed your test or you are a seasoned driver, ensuring you don’t pay more than you need to for your auto insurance is important as the cost of owning a vehicle continue to rise. There are many different types of auto insurance coverage to choose from, depending on what you want covered and what you can afford. Some of the components of auto insurance are bodily injury liability, property damage liability, medical payments coverage, uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, comprehensive coverage, and collision coverage.

At one time, trying to obtain a quote directly from an insurance agency was hard and then the internet came along. Many web sites have been set up to give auto insurance premium comparisons including all the pertinent features of the insurance policy. So, if you are looking for the best quote for your auto insurance then there is no reason why you should not use an online service to do it.

In calculating an auto insurance premium, there are many factors to consider that will affect the end cost, including what town or city you live in and whether or not you have an alarm fitted or a garage to park the vehicle in as well as the cost of repairs and the cars power. It’s a pretty safe bet though that you’ll pay more for your auto insurance policy if you live in a big city when compared to a nice farm out in the country. Although your auto insurance will certainly add a considerable amount to your annual budget, most good companies will be able to set up a monthly repayment plan to help.

Well before you current auto insurance policy expires, most experts agree, that is the time to get a free insurance quote form a new company. If you drive a high risk vehicle then you may be looking to reduce the costs for your high risk auto insurance in which case may want to consider only getting a basic insurance coverage for your car. The advantage of having a comprehensive insurance plan though is that the insurance company will pay for any medical bills and time lost from work even if the accident was their fault. Other damages for the other driver and passengers in both that car and yours that are not immediate blood relatives are also usually covered with this type of policy.

When you switch is very important and the best time to switch to a new auto insurance company is when the current policy is about to expire. However, you would be wise to have your new auto insurance company confirm your acceptance before you burn your bridges with your existing insurance provider. Some companies also give a discount if you decide to have your home insured with them in addition to your vehicle insurance; so it is worth checking this out in advance. Knowledge is a powerful tool and ally when searching for low auto insurance premiums whether you have been driving for 30 years or have just passed your test.

By: Keith Mallinson

Accidents can happen any time, any where even to the best of the drivers. They can be a financial nightmare. To prevent the financial drain, it is always better to have a correct insurance cover for yourself and the vehicle. An accident by itself is a big source of worry about recovery and putting life back on track. An insurance policy at the least takes off the worry of paying hospitalization bills. State Farm Auto insurance covers a wide gamut of accident liabilities to free you off tensions.

Policy Coverage of Farmers Auto Insurance:

Farmers Auto Insurance is a large insurance company. Their auto insurance policy covers a wide variety of problems concerning vehicle such as collision, comprehensive, deductibles and so on.

o	A collision coverage policy covers damage to your vehicle, caused by hitting another vehicle or any object. This is the standard policy of coverage when the vehicle is leased or during the loan repayment. The insurance reimburses the amount needed to repair or replace your damaged vehicle. If the collision is due to your fault, then property damage cover reimburses for the damage caused to someone else’s property such as car, house or fence etc.

o	The comprehensive coverage usually covers fire, riots, storms, earthquakes, floods, falling objects, collision with animals and other natural calamities.

o	The deductible car insurance policy requires you to pay a portion of the damages, before reimbursing the total amount. It also offers uninsured motorist coverage insurance, which protects the family members and passengers. In case of an accident with someone who does not have auto insurance or with someone who is insured, it covers both the parties for any injury. This insurance also extends to you and your family members in case you are a victim of hit and run or pedestrian accident. They pay for the medical cost, pain, suffering and lost wages.

Factors Affecting State Farm Auto Insurance Coverage

o	Age: You pay more if you are less than 25 years of age. Drivers over the age of 50 with good driving record get a discount.

o	Where you drive: City driving and back and forth from work driving insurance is more expensive than inter state driving.

o	Driving record: You get cheaper insurance rate if you have had no accidents in last five years.

o	Type of vehicle: A new expensive vehicle being paid out through bank or finance company has higher rate of insurance than a second hand or family vehicle.

State farm auto insurance cover is valid anywhere in the USA and Canada, but covers just 25 miles inside the Mexican border. It is non-traditional insurance, meaning that it does not cover properties that traditionally do not fall under typical property items or automobile insurance. These include boats, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and ATV’s, while Farmers Auto Insurance and homeowners insurance covers wide range of goods including the non-traditional ones too.

Auto insurance, home insurance or any specialty insurance cover is very important to prevent financial loss in case of any untoward mishap or accident. A little premium takes care of your worries.

By: Alexander Gordon
